NSC Horizon 2020 Mid-Term Review
A draft report of the progress of the NSC and nanosafety research under Horizon 2020 framework has been prepared by two external and independent reviewers.
Background
European Commission, DG Research, Belgium staff invited the reviewers to examine the recent activities of the NanoSafety Cluster (NSC) and to provide comments on its new organizational structure. The reviewers studied the NSC Horizon 2020 (H2020) mid-term self-evaluation documents, attended the March 2018 NSC scientific and review meeting, and consulted the NSC Action Plan 2017-2021 and the NSC Compendium 2017. The reviewers acknowledge that the NSC reorganization only occurred one year ago and that that timeline influences the progress and products that were reported to them. This report combines the perspectives of both reviewers and is organized to reflect the meeting agenda. Overall, the reviewers are highly enthusiastic about the new structure and activities of the NSC and offer their comments as external advice in support of NSC efforts.
