All day
November 10, 2014 – November 13, 2014
The NMP-DeLA project is coordinating an organising two week-long summer schools with training materials and educational events to increase the knowledge base of the Scientific Community in Latin America and EU. Nano for Water and Energy, Mexico, is the second of these Summer Schools.
The schools will focus on the deployment of nano- and advanced materials technologies in societally beneficial applications and offer tangible opportunities for knowledge pooling in the fields of clean energy and water. The schools will coordinate networking and knowledge activities, emphasising both educational and entrepreneurial aspects, including case studies, best practices and business planning. There will also be side events, including small seminars and online sessions.
Training materials will be made widely available and transferred to as many R&D organizations as possible with interactive sessions for scientific participants. Meanwhile, Nano Monterrey 2014 Forum presents some of the most important advances in Nanotechnology. Technology leaders spotlight key emerging innovations.
In addition, a physical expert workshop will provide an opportunity for LAC Scientific Community and other stakeholders to increase their knowledge base in advanced materials for solutions to societal challenges in energy and water.
The first part of each workshop will involve invited experts and stakeholders who will present different case studies related to the application of advanced materials and product deployment. These experts will offer a full coverage of the value-chain, including R&D organizations, educational organization, industrial stakeholders, policy makers and government, and civil-society.
The second part of each workshop will involve collaborative session in which experts will review the results of the project’s road-mapping and strategy development actions and make recommendations. Key questions will include: Where are we now? Where do we want to be? What are the hindrances? What needs to be done to overcome these barriers?
The aim is to provide support to researchers, scientists and organizations to facilitate their engagement with business and industrial partners, and policy makers. It will support the development of a long-term sustainable platform through which collaborative relationships can be formed, leading to an increase in the deployment of technologies that address the targeted societal challenges.
Applicants for this workshop must be registered NMP-DeLa members (register at www.nmp-dela.eu).
