All day
June 17, 2015
The EU FP7 NanoDefine project was launched in November 2013 and will run until October 2017. The project is solely dedicated to support the implementation of the EU Recommendation on the Definition of Nanomaterial. Main goal is to develop a novel 2-tiered approach including rapid and cost-effective screening and confirmatory measurement methods, and the "NanoDefiner" eTool to guide potential end-users, such as concerned industries and regulatories as well as enforcement and contract laboratories, to reliably classify if a material is nano, or not. To achieve this ambitious objective, a comprehensive inter-laboratory testing of the performance of current methods, instruments and software, and further developing and validating their capacity is launched to reliably measure the size of particulates in the size range 1-100 nm (according to the EU definition), but also above. The purpose of this 1/2-day workshop is to reach out to relevant stakeholders, such as policy makers, regulators and industries, to present and discuss our goals and first results achieved, and to start up a process of continuous exchange of views, needs and experiences obtained from different fields of expertise and application, and to integrate the resulting feedback into our ongoing work. During the workshop, both stakeholders and experts from the project will be able to learn from each other, to gain new insights and understanding, and relevant input for their own daily work on the size-related classisifcation of novel materials.
We kindly ask you to save this date and register (free of charge) as early as possible as place is limited (first come first served) by sending an email with your name, address and affiliation to:Â events@nanodefine.eu.
